The most beautiful and complex thing I have ever seen is slime mold, this particular strand was a bright yellow and could solve difficult mazes in its quest to recycle. It is malware that is alive, sweet and romantic in how it operates, it travels in intricate circuits and various routes from only one cell in search of a heart-stem, the mass is formed and then the lava-like strands and oily and mucus-slick tentacles slowly slither out in search of food, it's like time travel explorers, if only those were made of bright-orange jelly blobs or frost-white cocoons of oozing slime halo's, pulsating goo-blobs that in time-lapse videos appear like they are breathing as one, it's incredible how this living thing with no brain will surgically find a way and expertly navigate a dangerous forest floor and old rotten tree stump metropolis.
It is one of the most remarkable things the world has, I don't understand how people aren't fascinated by this picture-perfect anomaly, it is neglected but has an important purpose, it feeds on dead plants and vegetation, fungi and rain-drenched tree-rot.
To be totally honest with you, dear reader, I wish the entire world was blanketed by slime mold, I really do, even the sky. That's a beautiful world I want, not this one, this one is ugly and this one is rotten and I do not belong here.
